BLOOMSBURY ROADS ARE LIKELY TO BE COMPLETELY CLOSED TO TRAFFIC ALONG SOUTH, EAST AND WEST BORDERS
It is important for local residents and businesses to know that due to TfL'sStreetspace for Londonplans, all major roads bordering the south, east and west sides of the east Bloomsbury area are likely to be closed to motor vehicles, apart from buses and emergency vehicles. BRAG supports walking and cycling initiatives - especially for improved air quality - but is concerned about the impact of these changes upon residents' quality of life, and particularly the impact on deliveries - we need our small shops and local businesses to survive Covid-19.
I am absolutely flabbergasted how anyone could have came to the decision to have made these amendments to Tavistock Place. It has bought chaos to the whole area, rendering any emergency services i.e. Police, Ambulance, Fire Brigade any though route other than Euston Rd. or St .Giles high st which has been brought to an almost standstill. Emissions in these areas must've gone up since these changes have been put into place. What with tfl saturating the streets with private hire vehicles this is all adding to the huge melting pot of congestion any traffic heading west now has only two options Euston Road or St. Giles high st. The old saying comes strongly into place on this occasion why fix it if it's not broken?
